Many women in the sector of Busengo find themselves in particularly difficult socio-economic situations as they have been abandoned with small children. Having to singlehandedly take care of young children while also ensuring sufficient daily income to provide adequate accomodation, food, clothing and schooling is challenging.

In September 2024 the SPOT project opened the INZU Y’AMAHUGURWA Community Center in Busengo. This centre focuses primarily on the needs of the marginalized women of Busengo and have after consultation with them, launched two workshops that aim to help women acquire the skills needed to provide for themselves and their children in the future. One workshop focuses on tailoring and the other on weaving.
